White Plains Council Votes on FASNY Impact Statement Monday; High School PTA Meet and Greet on Thursday

TODAY: The White Plains Common Council is having a special meeting tonight at 7 p.m. to vote on whether to accept the Final Environmental Impact Statement for the French American School of New York application as complete. The meeting will take place inside city hall, located at 255 Main St.

TODAY: Dr. Samantha Slotnick is hosting ADD Just Doesn't Add Up!, a workshop designed to help parents identify visual difficulties that could be hampering their child's learning experience. TODAY: The Microsoft Retail Store located inside The Westchester in White Plains is hosting a launch event for the video game Grand Theft Auto V from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.  Customers can enjoy food, swag and raffle prizes. The game can be pre-ordered at any Microsoft retail store. TUESDAY: The White Plains Library is hosting its Job Club discussion series Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.  Career counselors Ginny Ruder and Rose Macom will lead the ongoing weekly job club include writing resumes and cover letters, preparing for an interview, using the Internet and social media with the library's resources to conduct a job search and tips on developing a strong professional network. While it is recommended that people attend the entire series, participants can come when they are able. The White Plains Library is located at 100 Martine Ave.

WEDNESDAY: SCORE Westchester is hosting  a workshop with four leading business experts who will present unique points of view on sales growth, financial control, business asset protection, and employee retention. The workshop will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Register here. SCORE Westchester is located at 120 Bloomingdale Rd. in White Plains.

THURSDAY: The White Plains High School PTA is hosting a meet and greet Thursday at  7:30 p.m., inside the White Plains High School Media Center. The meet and greet is an opportunity for parents to meet the PTA leadership and high school administrators.  This is a great opportunity for new families to meet and old families to reconnect. High school parents are strongly encouraged to attend the meeting, as it will also offer important information about the academic year. The White Plains High School is located at 550 North St. in White Plains.
