Free Joint Replacement Rehab Class

Date:  Tue, November 19, 2013
Time:  2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Burke Rehabilitation Hospital will host a FREE  class on post joint replacement rehabilitation on Nov. 19 from 2 to 3 p.m., in Room G-41 of the Burke Rehabilitation Hospital’s Wood Building located at 785 Mamaroneck Ave. in White Plains.

The class will feature presentations by a cross-functional team from Burke. The goal is to provide patients a better understanding of what to expect after joint replacement surgery. It will feature a formal presentation by representatives from various areas at Burke including; screening, admitting, nursing, social work and the business office.  The program directors from Burke’s Single Joint Rehabilitation and Orthopedic Rehabilitation programs will also be participating in the class.  It is hoped that the program will provide patients with the knowledge necessary to make an informed decision as to what level of post surgical rehabilitation is appropriate for them; how to advocate for their choice of facilities; and how to navigate through a confusing and ever changing landscape of medical insurance and coverage.

For more information about the FREE Joint Replacement Rehabilitation class or to register, please contact Denise Cronin, RN at (914) 597-2519. Seating is limited and registrations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Refreshments will be served and tours of Burke will be available immediately following the class.
