White Plains Second-Graders Snag Chess Gold
Youngsters at Mamaroneck Avenue School win first place at county-wide tournament.
Second graders at the Mamaroneck Avenue School in White Plains won first place at the Westchester County Scholastic Chess Championship Saturday.
"In addition to the Team first place win, Milo Kris, a second grader at Mamaroneck Ave School won an individual trophy for being the highest scoring unrated player in the grade," said PTA member Bonnie Hagen.
